Obviously, there is no good reason, except I'm making a goof.  The uploads
directory has (soft) links to the actual files which are elsewhere in the
apple8 and apple16 subdirectories.  Can you download the actual files
by FTP?  That is, use the actual pathname rather than the links in the
uploads/ directories.  

I'll try to learn more about ACL's (or whatever they are called) and
how to edit the acl's so 'anonymous' has 'read' priviledges on the link
files.

[PS to Nathan Mates:  Help!  Any idea what I am doing wrong :-(  Now
that I can create a link correctly, they still aren't right.            ]
