Trackstar Plus in a hi speed P-100; Apple2 hardware questions

Well, another Trackstar Plus question. I know these are very rare
pieces of equipment, but if anyone has experience...

I've installed my newly bought Trackstar Plus in my P-100, and it
works just fine under DOS (I can type and run AppleSoft basic programs
and manipulate HiRes pages) until I try to use Apple disks in my
working DuoDisk Drive plugged into the Trackstar. When I try to boot
off working ProDOS boot disks, the drive just spins and spins and
spins, drive light on and everything. 

The manual says if this happens, it could either be a copy protected
disk, a bad disk, or a bad drive. Therefore, I plugged the DuoDisk
back into the IIe and booted of the very same disks, and these are
Apple ProDOS system disks with no copy protection, mind you. The 15
year old Apple worked like a champ.

I'm thinking this could be one of two problems:

1. The Trackstar Plus isn't compatible with DuoDisk drives (but the
manual says the UniDisk 5.25" drive is just fine. Drive 1 of a DuoDisk
should be electrically identical of a UniDisk, right?). Anyone know
for sure?

2. A Pentium 100 is just WAAAAAYYYYY too fast for an 8 bit ISA card
developed in 1988. Problem is, my ASUS motherboard has no connection
for a turbo button, so there's no obvious way to slow the hardware
down. I can't imagine a slowdown TSR utility program would help, since
that just eats CPU cycles. What's the fastest PC anyone has
successfully run one of these cards in?

I'm still wondering if UniDisk 3.5" drives will work on this card too,
but I guess I need to worry about one step at a time.
