Well, if it is on a hard drive AND you have several partions AND the other
partitions are NOT full, then copy everything that is still useable to a
directory on a different partition.
Then reformat the "bad" partition.
Then put them back in the reformatted partition.

A easier method might be use ProSel 16.  
I have not used it, but suspect it will be helpful.
