Lots of people have commented on this shortcoming (I personally use
ProTERM's editor as a quick text editor, very handy when setting up my
Metal/FV BBS).  Have you tried holding down <option> while starting
ProTERM before?  It skips init'ing the modem, resulting in under 1
second load time from my hard drive or ramdisk.  Back to the question:
No, the text buffer is only 64k big, and won't be expanded due to the
way it was written (it would require a major rewrite to increase it
beyond 64k).  InTrec might decide to increase this in 4.0, but I
haven't heard anything conclusive.  By the way, I thought that after
the Mac version of ProTERM was done, InTrec would return to us and do
the v4.0 upgrade...?
