The IIgs is relatively easy: just replace the power supply with one
that takes 230V input, instead of 110V. The catch is that you probably
can't get replacement IIgs power supplies in NZ or Australia any more.

In that case, you are better off using a 230V-to-110V step-down
transformer, unless the Vulcan has a setting for the input voltage.

You will still need the transformer for the monitor, unless you buy
another monitor (practically impossible now - the only way to get one
here would be to find a second-hand machine with a good monitor but
dead computer).

The transformer is reasonably expensive, but it is by far the easiest
solution. I know of at least two IIgs systems in Wellington that are
running with a transformer for at least part of the system. You should
also be able to get hold of an American-style plug box to run all the
appropriate devices (safer than changing the plugs to NZ ones but
continuing to run the devices at 110V!)

The line frequency is not a problem - my monitor (240V/50 Hz model) has
been receiving 60 Hz video from the computer (less flickery than 50 Hz,
and improves software compatibility) since 1987, with no noticeable
problems (the monitor is starting to wear out now, but it should last
at least another year).

Yeah - just buy another machine when you get here. By then, you'll be
able to pick up a 486 DX2/66 for a song. :-)
