Re: IBM Power Supply to IIe or IIgs : tech questions




Thanks for the comments.   I have found a supplier for the IIgs 
motherboard connector.  I have ordered big supplies of copper AWS-18 600v 
insulated wires, cord ties, shrink-tubing, etc.  I still need to get the 
IIE MOTHERBOARD CONNECTOR so if anyone knows of a source for those, tell me.

Apprciate the advice on the +5v lines.  Yes, I will group two of those 
lines on the IBM power supply so that full amperage will be gained.  
Coper wire will be best for carrying all the power available.

BTW, I have successfully installed  150 watt IBM power supply on my 
"flagship IIe," and it works great.  No freeze-ups since installing it 3 
weeks ago.

Hey I am selling my so-called AE "heavy-duty" power supply for IIe; 
$30.00 plus shipping.   Anyone want it?

: No, grouping the wires will have little effect.  You might concider
: grouping the two +5V wires together if you are really concerned about it,
: but I really doubt it is nessessary.  For one thing, the wires are usually
: 12,14, or 18 gauge and are plenty sizable to handle a couple amps, which
: is about all you are really drawing.
