Boy have I Missed this Pub
Boy, what a strange feeling I have right now, I honestly feel like I
have come home after being gone for a long time. It feels good.
I have not read any stuff for awhile. I kinda feel guilty, Why? well
here I sit typing on my 386DX, and I remember the day when I said I
would never get a Internal Bowel Movement computer. but alas things
came about that I coundn't control, like the local Apple BBS had to
Cease to exist as the sysop went off to Lawyer school, so I had no way
to access this site anymore. and of couse it seems like I never have
time any more to do much of anything (boy I wish I was a kid again) :)
The biggest reason I feel guilty is the Fact that I still have my GS,
all souped up 8egs ram, accelerators, ramfast, High speed SCSI, 10
small HD's, a custom Full tower case I made for it, etc etc. and now
it just sits in the corner. The funny part is, The GS is ALOT faster
than either my Mac SE, or this 386 clunker. But I never seem to use
it anymore. :( I think one of the biggest reasons is the fact that I
cant access the Internet with it. That and the fact that with all the
goodies, inits, and stuff, the GS would Crash way too often. The Mac
isn'nt color, So here I sit using my 386. Which I hate to admit,
rarely crashes. I will admit though I still and always will love my
Apple II's like no other computer. (as I think back over all the years
of use). Apple Inc. sure had a great thing, too bad they didnt see
it. Ya know my GS can still do LOTS of things the Mac and PC Clones
still cant do right. What brought me to write this passage was the
fact that as I sat here reading the posts here, I really felt at home.
I really do not think there is, and probally will never be the
community of caring, trust, and help etc. that The Apple II brought
togeather and is still going on. It really feels good knowing The
Apple II does still live on. And for me all ways will. I could sell
the Mac and 386, But I could never sell my GS. Long Live the Apple II
