Not likely.  The filetype is usually ignored by programs that work
with a generic file format that may have been downloaded.  Some comms
programs create TXT files for all downloads, others create BIN files.

The contents is the same, so the only reason for jpeGS to NOT work is
if the contents of the file is not formatted correctly.  It might have
some extra junk at the beginning (e.g. a MacBinary header), which must
be removed before jpeGS will be able to handle the file.

(If Binary II is used, and is supported by your comms software, then
the correct file type should be assigned, but this only applies to
files that were sourced on an Apple II.  MacBinary is supported by
Spectrum, but I don't know of any other Apple II comms programs which
handle it.)
