problems with cdrom

I have an apple IIGS rom 01 w/6megs ram 170meg harddrive system 6.0.1
and a NEC cdr-25 and ramfast rev. c with ramfast drivers off of the grind
and I can't get it to play audio cds the way the text file said it would
when I open media controller NDA with rf.nec as the media source and port
as either printer modem or game it crashes my computer and I have
cdmaster also off of the grind and it won't play cds either any help
would be appreciated
