Yep, don't disagree with you there.  ProDOS is a scaled down version of
the Sophisticated Operating System (SOS) to work in systems as small as
64K.  I also believe that elements of the UNIX file system were an
influence on the design of SOS.  So, ProDOS is a bit older than 1984 but
it is younger than CP/M which was a big influence on MS-DOS.
