At what level?  Do you need to know common terms and concepts (volumes,
directories, prefix)?  Do you simply need to know about the BASIC.SYSTEM
commands like CAT, CATALOG, PREFIX, etc.?  Are you planning on writing
Applesoft programs and need to make use of the BASIC.SYSTEM programs?
Will you be writing assembler programs and need to call ProDOS?

In general, Gary Little has written some excellent books.

I don't think I've seen books target specific versions of ProDOS
