You titled your msg PRODOS TO MSDOS, which is a misnomer.  :)

In Appleworks, print (OA-P) the file to a text file on disk instead of
to the printer.  Or if you have ProTerm, load the file in (assuming it's
less than 45k, PT's editor size limit) and use Save As... and flip the
toggle at the bottom to TXT from AWP.
