I bought a used RamFAST Rev. B (256K) SCSI card on the net. It seems to
work, but the computer was making power-overload reactions. I will try
it again when my IBM power cable arrives next week.
The card insisted on reformatting the hard drive (Yes, I had the HD
backed up... :-)
But does anyone know whether the newer ROMs can be ordered to upgrade
this Rev. B Ramfast card? I called Sequential ---- the lady was not sure
but her tone
and conversation suggested that this is a dinosaur relic of a RamFAST and
that she was skepical of upgrade possibilities ...
In the event that I cannot upgrade the ROMs, what will I be missing???
The manual states that this card was made by CV Technologies in Ohio, but
apparently the RamFast monopoly was taken over by Sequential Systems in
Colorado.
RamFAST experts ---- I know you're out there ---- please advise! S.B.
