To the best of my knowledge, any version of GS/OS 5.0.2+ can use forked files.
This isn't usually a problem, if you're using GS/OS in modern times... but, if
you're using 4.0 or (*gasp*) 3.0, you can't use forked files.
Unshrinking forked files is accomplished efficiently using GSHK.
