Sticky keys, eh?
Well, 8 trillion years ago when I worked for Apple as a repair tech there
was on solution for this sort of thing. Replace everything. Unfortunatly
that was and still is Apple's M.O. and there dosen't seem to be a change
in sight. What you can do now is one of two things. First-find a new
keyboard. Nothing EVER compleatly droppes off the face of the planet
(except any thing you desprately need). Chances are that some where out
there, someone makes //c keyboards. I would try looking up a company
called Applied Engeneering. I have no clue if they exist any more but
that's who we always called on for no-longer-available Apple parts. The
second option is to find an old more broken //c keyboard and break out the
old soldering gun. What you would do is open the //c, being careful not to
crack the case, MAKE SURE TO NOTICE HOW EVERYTHING FITS, and remove the
keyboard. If you flip it over you will see two solder points under each
key. If you melt this solder you can then (with some force) pull the
entire key assembly off the board. Simply replace it with a working key
assembly from the broken keyboard. Just a reminder, the top of the key
assembly that displays the letter does come off and can be interchanged
with any other (for the most part). Be sure that if you take option B, you
get a //c keyboard. Apple used many different types of key guts and only
another //c key assembly will work. Good luck and make sure you're in a
static free environment first.
