l modem cable should work for any ascii transfer. As long as you
have a comm program for each computer.

if the files are more complicated.
 
 
I've never run into a problem using procomm on a pc and ansiterm or spectrum
on a iigs.
 
just make sure you select binary or text(ascii) on the pc side depending on
what you are transfering.
