    Some info that might help:

Does the screen show all of the IIgs display (interspersed with black
lines) or do lines seem to be missing? (e.g. Are you missing alternating
lines from the IIgs display?) Is the display stable?

Is there an Interlace/ Non-Interlace switch on the monitor? (If there
is, you might try flipping it to the other position.)

Are there any other Mode, H-Scan Freq., etc. switches on the monitor?

Has the monitor ever worked correctly with the IIgs?

What model is the Magnvox monitor?-- in case someone with that model
happens to read this.
