SCSI CD-ROM

I'm trying to attach a Sanyo SCSI cdrom to an LC475 run 7.5.1
but having no luck.

I can see the device with scsiprobe, and activate its light,
but nothing mounts. I have a Mac CD in the drive, and the drive was just
taken out of a PC running UNIX, and was working.

is there something else different to the Apple CD-ROM extension that I need?
I have all the ISO 9660 extensions and so on normally required for a CD,
but I just cant seem to get this one mounted.

Does anyone have any ideas?
