A few days ago I purchased a 1083.3 MB NEC hard drive for my GS. I am
still waiting for my RamFAST to arrive so I used an original Apple Rev.c
SCSI card and System 6.0.1 Advanced Disk Utilities to partition the
drive and format it. It took quite some time for the process to complete.
Actually it didn't complete... after about 1/2 hour I got an error
message (I cannot recall what it said). The drive was purchased brand new.
Did I do something wrong in partitioning the drive, or is there some
other reason I cannot get this drive up and running?
Now, the ADU reports that the 32mb partitions are 2029mb and other
strange numbers. It reports that the 250mb HFS partitions are 188576mb...
GS/OS gives an error of $7f00 when I try to boot my other hard drive
with the 1gb drive on the SCSI chain.
Is there specific software that is recommended to format this drive? I
tried to repair the partitons with ProSel 16 v8.83 but even after the
partition is 'fix'ed, system 6.0.1 does not recognize the partition.
Thanks a lot for any help here.
