Regarding NEWVIDEO register (R/W or W only?)
 
Like I said, I can't find a blasted thing here now... sigh... so I couldn't
check my margin notes in my copy of the hardware ref manual. Obviously I
had faulty memory when I suggested this register was write only... oops.
