It depends upon the hardware.  You might be interested in 
software called Apple Internet Router (available from Apple) 
which runs on a Mac and gives you two Localtalk zones (one from 
the printer port, another from the modem port) and also zones for 
however many Ethernet cards that are in the machine (for most 
folks, just one, no doubt).  It costs about $400, last I checked.
