Re: Patch for **MAJOR** HFS.FST Bug

I have not used large HFS partitions with GS/OS (whaddya expect? I only
have a 20Mb Vulcan...), but I have used quite a few 800k HFS volumes. If
I have files that I need to be able to use on either Macintosh or GS, I
use HFS because while GS/OS can mount an HFS volume almost immediately,
MacOS System 7.5 takes about five *minutes* to mount and open a ProDOS
volume...if it does it at all.

Anyway, I've had 800k HFS volumes trashed by using them on both Macs and
GS's. I always assumed it was a drive problem, since the Macs I use all
have the new "shove it in all the way" Superdrives, and I have had less
trouble on the older Mac (with the older drive, System 7.1, and Apple File
Exchange).

I've installed the HFS patch with no problems so far (but haven't used it
much yet, either). I don't know if I was getting hit by the HFS FST bug,
but from what I've read, it sounds like that might have been the problem.
