JPEG viewer available?

  Hello, I posted not too long ago about a Jpeg viewer for the appleIIGS 
that did not require a shell(sinc I don't have one...yet.....) and since 
then I have got nowhere. I have downloaded the program JV.Prerelease and 
all I have failed to work. I have been left everytime in the Monitor 
wondering what the heck is going on. Could anybody give me any help? Even 
if it is 'forget about that program'...any thing will be greatly 
appreciated. 
  Actually another question has come to mind. I have recently downloaded 
parts of System6 from the ftp site ftp.support.apple.com. Now it says I 
need a file called diskcopy to 'unarchive it'. So I found a program 
called Diskcopy, but it doesn't work. So I then decided to 'look' at the 
what I had downloaded and each file had Macintosh written up the top. Is 
it correct for me to assume that the program required (diskcopy) is in 
infact a mac program(that is do I have to go to my friend with his Mac 
and get my files unarchived?)  Thanks in advance for any help.
