IIc Printer Advice Wanted

Hello and please excuse me if this is a question that's been answered before.

Ok, I'm helping a friend who got an Apple IIc computer at a swapmeet.
Luckily, I have some disks with programs from my high school days, so she
is all set in that respect. However, she will need a printer for the
machine. A dot matrix will suffice, as she will only be using the computer
for _basic_ word processing.

Is there a national computer place where she might be able to get a
printer? What type of software would be needed for the printer...anything
special?

P.S. How the heck do you initialize a disk from the PRO-Dos prompt? I've
totally forgotten the command.
