Internet via Apple IIc ?!

I have been given a commandment, here at the office, by those persons who 
could be defined as my superiors:  "Make it So."  This commandment refers to 
getting an AppleIIc connected to the Internet.  And so I ask for your help.  I 
have no modem as of yet (where might I get one?), minimal software, a couple 
of manuals, and the machine itself . . . oh, and lots of questions:  Can I use 
a Mac compatible modem?  Where might I find communications software for this 
friendly machine?  How can I get around (if I can get around) the 1200 kbs 
limitation of the Apple IIc (as indicated in the owner's manual)?  Etc, etc.

Please help!  All input would be greatly appreciated, here in this newsgroup
