Ramfast "TWGS" setting
Does anyone actually know what the "Transwarp GS" option setting on the
Ramfast does? My understanding was that it wasn't necessary with the ZipGS.
However, a friend has loaned me a SCSI drive (I haven't had one for a while)
and I now find that I need to have that setting "ON" to load the RF driver.
That is, I can boot GSOS without the RF driver and with the TWGS setting "OFF",
but not with the driver. It boots ok either way with TWGS "ON". This is an
RF revision D with the latest ROM upgrade (just installed), in a system with
a Zip 9/32. I don't remember ever needing that setting on before, but that
was before I upgraded the ROM, and a couple of years ago (the last time I
had a hard drive).
For that matter, what exactly does the RF driver do? I've noticed that
partitions will appear with the "drive" icon instead of the "partition" one
without it, but I assume it has some functional effect as well?
