I recently constructed the "Weekend Hardware Hacker" project located
in the Jan. 1991 8/16 Central disk publication. This uses Radio Shack
parts construct a sound input device (mono) for the //gs.
As an example of the quality, I uploaded a GNO/ME shell utility (with
ORCA/C source code to GRIND (rSound.shk) and to the GEnie A2 library
(rSound.bxy). The utility allows you to play selected rsounds from
your system/sounds directory. I included a couple of clips I made
with the home made sound input device.
You also need the AudioZap utility which came on the same 8/16 disk
and a utility such as rSounder (available on GEnie) to convert the raw
sound samples to rSounds.
If you are even a little bit of a hacker this project is an option.
Good Luck!!!
