I also have a SecondSight with a serial number of 1575. I got it in
August and haven't been able to get it to work with my ZipGS AND RamFAST
installed at the same time. It works if either one of these cards is in
my IIgs without the other card! Wierd. I've been dealing with Jawaid
and Sequential slowly (just as much my doing as theirs -- I've been busy)
and am now awaiting a new board. Since mine didn't have the resistor
added on the back (I originally had the capacitor which I clipped off)
I hope this new SS works. I have been feeling as if I am the only person
with SS problems so far!!

Apparently, from Florence who answers the phone at Sequential, they were
waiting on a new batch of SS boards the past couple of weeks. It seems
(according to her) that they can't keep up with the orders so far. 
Sounds hopeful. I would assume from this info. that your assumptions
about how they number the SS boards is correct and they probably have
sold a couple thousand of these things! (wow, that's pretty amazing!).
