Versions of StuffIt after v1.5.1 use a proprietary compaction routine owned by Aladin Systems, which is why you won't find an UnStuffit that isn't licensed by Aladin. That's also why StuffIt offers an option to pack files as v1.5.1 archive so they _can_ be unstuffed with other utilities. -John
