Well, last _I_ heard (and that was already 2 or 3 years back, I don't
remember), a friend of mine tried to pay for it, and failed. His fee came
back with a note "don't want it, use it free".

In essence, if not in writing, Photonix II is freeware ... the author(s)
refuse to take payment.
