Well, that would be good advice, except that when I called Jameco about
it, the adapter in question had been discontinued, as had their ][e
replacement keyboard 8-( (I had wanted both at the time...)
I've got a Disk ][ here that I want to connect to my IIgs smartport, and I
just attached a connector to the ribbon cable...didn't bother with an
adapter, and didn't disturb the existing 20-pin connector. Only problem
is, first of all, I used a DB-25 with six pins removed since you can't get
a crimp on DB-19 around here. Second, I think I fried something in the
drive 'cause the first time I tried it, I had the connector installed
backwards (oops...) and when I tried it, the computer wouldn't power up.
I fixed the connector, and now the drive won't boot. I haven't tried it
as Drive 2 yet...I guess I really should...
