Email Only Access
This is similar to a question I posted a few weeks ago to
comp.sys.apple2.comm. It did not seem to receive a reply there. I'm
trying here because some readers who have an email-only Internet
connection may be unable to access the more specialized newsgroup.
My Internet connection is email only, and will continue that way for a
while since I'm trying to cut down personal expenses. The method I'm
using to post (email to, for example, comp-sys-apple2@cs.utexas.edu)
works consistently. But the method I use to have news sent to me (the
Stanford Netnews Filtering Service) is not 100% reliable and is not
intended for someone like me who wants to at least see the subject of
every message on every Apple II newsgroup. (Anyone curious about the
filtering service can send a message with "help" in the body and any
subject to netnews@hotpage.stanford.edu.)
So my question is, if you have email-only access, how are you reading
this and other apple2 newsgroups? Even if you are not totally
satisfied with your access method, I'd like to hear about your
experiences.
Please reply to this post in this newsgroup to increase everyone's fund
of knowledge. To be sure I can read replies to this post, I'd greatly
appreciate that they also be sent to me by email.
