AWGS DB Question
Has anyone had any problems with AWGS in the database module? I use AWGS a
fair amount with pretty good success, and I don't preload modules (thanks
to the people who have said that causes problems). I've been working on a
database with about 150 records and perhaps 20-30 fields in each, all text
(I think). In typing in this file, I've twice had AWGS write a corrupt
file on a save command and then freeze shortly thereafter. Currently I'm
able to export the database as a text file and examine it; some fields in
certain records have just been deleted (not written with blanks), some
records seem missing, and some are just fine.
Has anyone seen anything like this? If so, is there some common cause that
one can avoid? I'm getting wary of typing in lots of data only to see it
trashed. (Oh yes, neither the Finder nor ProSel can find anything wrong
with the file or volume.)
On a related note, I have, about twice in several years, had AWGS write
trash all over a volume on a save operation. The last time was about a
month or two ago. I did a "Save" and then started chatting with someone;
after a moment I noticed that the disk was active for an _awfully_ long
time and reset the computer. At that point, most of the files on that
volume were toast, and ProSel didn't help much. Does that sound familiar?
Thanks,
Bill
