Easy answer, though it probably won't make you happy.  The //c does not
support any 3.5" disk drive except the UniDisk 3.5, and not even that if
it is one of the original motherboards.  The drive you have is probably an
Apple 3.5 or maybe a Mac 800k.  It is not a UniDisk 3.5, since I'm pretty
sure they would not work on an SE/30 or any other Mac.  The only solution 
if you really want a 3.5 on the //c is to check which motherboard you 
have (see the FAQ), and then get a UniDisk 3.5 if you have the right ROM's.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
