Picking a printer...

I'm in the market for a good printer to be used on my GS, Mac, and PC.
Right now I'm thinking...

A) HP DeskJet of some type

B) Epson Laser Printer (Do the old Epson drivers work well with the new
printers?)

C) HP Laser Printer--but I've seen a good many in my school's repair
shop, which kind of scares me.

First and foremost, it has to work as well as possible with the GS.
Drivers that let me print text and graphics (colour if the printer
supports it) are a must. It's got to have a serial interface--I don't
want to play with interface converters or anything like that.

Given those restrictions, what are some good printer/driver
combinations?
