What I want to know is why get either? With the price of drives going
through the floor, you can get all the storage you need at reasonable
prices without resorting to compressing the disk and risking major data
crashes. If you buy used drives in good shape, the price is even lower. I
picked up a couple of 100 meg drives in San Francisco for around $10
bucks each. Now I realize that not everyone has a surplus dealer in the
neighborhood, but fairly decent prices of $0.50 per meg can be found
right here on the net in the for sale newsgroups. Rather then use a
program that if the main file gets a glitch all the files are lost,
damaged or at the very least difficult to retrieve, I say get a bigger
drive. No loss in speed either.
