Thank you for all that have replied to me in great details and patience.
Within 10 or so hours since I first posted, I have received 3 replies.
Apple users are great! Even better than Mac, well, no need to mention
Windows here :-(
To summarize:
My friend has basically two choices. Get a Super Serial Card and connect
to any kind of external modem, or buy an internal one, which might be
limited to 2400(?) baud.
As far as egg-chicken problem, she has to ask Chuck Orem for help :-)
I also thank another apple2 expert for offering to send me a disk.
His name escapes at the momet.
I did see an ad for selling the following:
> 3 Apple Personal Modem 300/1200 $6
Is it as simple as to plug into the expansion slot.
If yes, that's probably the easiest/cheapest way to get her onto the info
highway until she gets impatient with the speed one day. I guess I have
to tell her the stories of some Tandy model1 users use 300 baud modem :-)
