Thanks, guys - I appreciate it.

This just in from the day-late-and-a-dollar-short department: I sat
down tonight and hacked until I figured out what was wrong with the
Uthernet init code that made you need to do a couple of DIRs to get it
started.  If anyone wants to give that fix a try, a test .DSK built on
top of 1.1.5 is available on the download page under 'testcase' on
Sourceforge...
