I've noticed that as well; I've so far attributed it to close tolerance
on the speed of some chips on the board. I'm going to send it to Sequential
for the ROM upgrade, and the faster-other-chips, and see if that fixes
the problems I had with my old hard drive (before the 540MB La Cie drive
arrives :).

Have you had that upgrade done? Might be the problem.
