Two things:

1. What is this doing on a Newton newsgroup?

2. Let me join the feeding frenzy:

One of the reasons it took me so long to switch to VHS from my old BETA
machine is the poor picture quality when running VHS in EP mode. My ancient
Beta machine gave me 5.5 hours of time in BetaIII mode on an L830 tape
with better quality.
