Nostalgia - Apple ][ europlus

Reading this newsgroup for the 1st time made me feel quite
nostalgic. I learned to program in the early 1980s on an Apple ][
Europlus which my Dad used to borrow from the school where he taught.
Its obvious that there are quite a few people out there still doing
useful work on Apple ][/][e/][c/GS machines! It just goes to show how
caught up we have all become in the upgrade game. I have just ordered
a Pentium with Windows 95 but it makes you stop and think when you
read this newsgroup.

Why do people keep on posting stuff about PCs here though?
The trouble with usenet & the internet as a whole is when you get
people reducing the usefulness of the whole thing by clogging it up
with unnecessary traffic.

Come on people, use your head and use this newsgroup to bring together
this group of enthsiasts - not for flaming each other about an unrelated
subject. What a great tool this can be if we all use it sensibly.

P.S. I don't know very much about the GS - I vaguely remember it having 
some strange CPU which was based on the 6502 and being quite excited about
the graphics and sound. Exactly how powerful is it? I wrote a few games on
the ][, does the GS play a mean game of defender etc?!!!

Ahhh those were the days....
