The old saying is, "Let someone else blow your horn and the sound will
be much sweeter."  Starting your own vanity group (what it would be if
you started it instead of "us") is just that:  vanity.

This was a reply to the "Dr. Tom's crap" thread, which said to get this
chatter about Dr. Tom out of csa2.  Moved and seconded...  taking action
may require a crowbar to get it physically out of here.  :)

As off-topic as this is, I've gotta respond:  There is NOTHING wrong
with Apples, Ataris, Barry Manilow, and 8 tracks.  It's the old Apples
and oranges (and peaches and pears) thing.  The only things Apples and
Ataris have in common is the 6500-series processors and some games
ported; the only link between Manilow and tapes is that the recording
artist can be found on this recording medium; the only thing these four
things (plus the other six in the _IW_ list I haven't seen) have in
common are:
    -- there are Internet discussion areas based on these items
    -- there are people who still believe in these items
    -- some people make fun of these items as being outdated/inferior
So just ease off.  There's a lot more we should question the value of
beside some pinhead's opinion, be it _IW_'s editor or mine or yours.
