I've never looked into this specific thing (never had a good reason to) but
there are several prefixes that are built into GS/OS and one of them contains
a pointer to the boot disk. If you can locate where in memory the
pointer is stored, it could probably be changed.
There may be a problem in doing this: GS/OS maintains some open files
and these could probably not be effectively closed and reopened on the
new disk. You could not use any of GS/OS's routines to close the files,
and it would not recognize them as being closed, so it would probably still
revert to the actual local boot disk for those files.
It may be impossible to boot local and "switch" the boot system disk to
a network disk.
