I had a look; I don't know where I got those ideas from, they aren't
supported by any of the (admittedly minimal) documentation I have for
SoftClock. All I can say is I've never encountered a problem with it.
Apparently, SoftClock originally appeared in the April 1989 issue of Nibble
magazine; the version I have has been modified to "allow it to work with
large applications". I've posted a copy to comp.binaries.apple2 for those
interested.
