FILE SWAPPING (even some VISICALC)!
ok, i have a very interseting and i am sure oft-asked question in this
newsgroup. essentially i want to transfer some files from my old Apple
IIe floppies onto my Macintosh. i am looking for the best, cheapest, and
quickest way to do this. here are the specifics of my case:
The files are from an old spreadsheet program called VISICALC. once i get
them onto the macintosh i intend to modify them so that they can be read
by excel. if anyone has ever done this conversion i would love to here
how it went.
the Apple IIe that i have has a serial card that is used to drive a
printer, and two of those old 5-1/4 disk drives.
I also have a IBM 486, so if it is much easier to first put the files on
that computer i can do this first. in fact, the 486 has a 5-1/4 drive,
although i assume there is no way to get it to read the apple disks.
So those are the extent of my resources. you can mail hints, ideas, and
experience, as well as posting it for others, to adambcox@princeton.edu
thanks,
