The IIGS is better. It's the only Apple II with a 16 bit architecture and
features lots of stuff unique to this machine (mega sound chip,
not-so-chunky-graphic modes, a really cool OS and mucho more).

If you don;t need a portable, get the IIGS. The Laser is definitely not a bad
machine, but the IIGS can do it all, too, plus more.
