David,
I think you're referring to SuperWorks. It did not read Apple II disks,
but you could transfer your AppleWorks files to your PC via a modem cable.
Unfortunately, I don't know if the company still exists. The Works market
has changed dramatically on the PC side. Most packages are now written for
Windows, not DOS. Obviously these are completely different than AppleWorks
(and require a lot more horsepower).
