Second Sight question

I'm using a Second Sight card with an AppleColor RGB monitor.  According to
the SS manual, ordinary hi-res graphics are not shadowed correctly with this
configuration.

If I wanted to run a program that used hi-res graphics, is it safe to
temporarily disconnect the monitor from the SS and reattach it to the
original video output port, without removing the SS?
