i too see odd border colours at times.

something crashed at boot time, leaving the super hires screen displayed.
there's an interupt routine that moves the thermometer, which was still
running. the 1st time i saw this, we were setting up a scsi card and
stopped a boot early, then went into the monitor to examine things. we
toggled the sgr screen on (c029:c1) out of curiosity and were amazed to
see the thermometer spring to life.
