Re: Pine screen painting?



I'm on a system with PINE, and the version on this system allows for
EXPORTING files to the local system.  Since we do not have user
directories, the Export commmand brings up a download menu.  I can then
request a TEXT file transfer.  I get the message, "Text flow begins in 5
seconds", which is plenty of time to start the capture buffer.  The text
is then flowed in instead of painted in, therefore it captures just fine.

Actually, I like the non-scrolling tactic used by PINE.  When I was
running on an unenhanced ][e, I would lose characters (in Kermit-65)
whenever the screen scrolled.  By using a program that didn't scroll
(PINE), I didn't lose characters at 2400 baud 8-)
